Website maintenance, explained.
What a monthly maintenance plan covers, and when your site needs one.
A website is never finished on launch day. The content system, its plugins and the server keep getting updates, browsers change, and the business moves on. Without maintenance a site slowly gets slower, less secure and out of date, until something breaks at the worst moment.
What we look after every month
- Updates to the content system, the plugins and the theme, with the site checked after each update
- Security checks, and regular backups you can restore from
- Uptime and speed, so problems are found before your customers find them
- Fixes when something breaks, reported on WhatsApp or email
- Small content changes: new text, pictures, offers and pages
- A monthly report in plain words: what we did, what we saw, and what we suggest next
WordPress maintenance
Many sites run on WordPress, where an outdated plugin is the most common way in for attackers, and a careless update is the most common way a site breaks. We update in a planned order, keep a recent backup and check the pages that matter, such as the forms and the checkout, afterwards.
Sites we did not build
We can usually take over a site built by someone else. We start with a check-up of the content system, the plugins, the hosting, speed and security, so we both know what we are taking on, and tell you what needs fixing first.
How it works
Custom Website and Creative Ecommerce include a month of free maintenance after launch. After that, ongoing support is optional and monthly, and you talk to the people who look after the site, not a ticket queue. Read what a month of free maintenance covers.
Good to know.
Still wondering? Ask us on WhatsApp
Is maintenance included with a new site?
Yes. Custom Website and Creative Ecommerce include a month of free maintenance after launch. After that, ongoing support is optional and monthly.
Can you look after a site you didn’t build?
Usually, yes. We start with a check-up, so we know what we’re taking on, and tell you what needs fixing first.
How do I report a problem?
However is easiest: WhatsApp, email or a call. You talk to the people who look after the site, not a ticket queue.
